Off to Bangalore

I'll be going to Bangalore tomorrow to help out my company in its recruitment drive. Interviewing people is nothing new for me and have been doing it for a while and my appetite for it is only as much as it is for driving through L.B. road during rush hour, I agreed to do this for the following reasons
1) Thou shalt never refuse an all expenses paid company trip - Taken from IT executive 101
2) Chance to get a bird's eye view of the hot and happenning Bangalore
3) Hob Nobbing with the upper management at our company.

Should be an interesting trip. I'll be flying on Kingfisher, so that will be another first for me.

Manmohan Singh Comes to U.S.

Mr. Singh was in the U.S. for a 3 day visit recently. While the most reported item out of the trip was the discussion on nuclear proliferation (or was it non proliferation?), I've stumbled across some much more interesting links related to the trip. If you plan on hosting a gathering of Indian and U.S. minds here's a list that you can use as a starter : http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/07/20050718-14.html.
And in case you're wondering what kind of menu would do justice to such a gathering, here's something to munch on :

Human Development Index

India ranked at 127 on the Human development Index reported by the UN. Was at the same spot last year, but has slid down by 15 spots compared to 2002.

Talk about Corporate Greed

Do you non stick? May not be such a good idea anymore.  Check out the ABC news report on EPA violations by Teflon maker DuPont below.

The good news is that EPA is soon going to do studies on the effects of PFOA on the environment. Their report is expected in a few months.
